In this article, we are going to discuss the SSC Selection Post exam pattern and Syllabus of the examination declared by SSC in the Official Notification.
Exam Pattern of SSC Selection Post Phase VII
1. CBT- Computer Based Examination
There will be a computer Based examination for all the Selection Posts which consists the multiple choice questions. The full detail about the CBT is given below :

SSC Selection Post Syllabus
For 10th Level (Matric)
1. English : Basics of English Language, vocabulary, sentence structure, synonyms, grammar, antonyms and correct usage of them, etc.
2. General Intelligence: It includes non-verbal type questions. The test includes questions on similarities and differences, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, space visualization,relationship concepts, figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions of arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.
3. General Awareness: The test will include questions related to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Sports, Geography, Culture,Economic scene, General Polity and Scientific Research etc.The test will also include questions on Current events.
4. Quantitative aptitude: The test will include questions relating to Number Systems, Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Percentages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
For 12th Level (higher Secondary)
1. English :
The English section will include questions on:
- Spot the Error
- Fill in the Blanks
- Synonyms/ Homonyms
- Antonyms
- Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words
- Idioms & Phrases
- One word substitution
- Improvement of Sentences
- Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs
- Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration
- Shuffling of Sentence parts
- Shuffling of Sentences in a passage
- Cloze Passage & Comprehension Passage
2. General Intelligence: It includes both verbal and non-verbal type questions. The test includes questions on :
- Semantic Analogy,
- Symbolic operations,
- Symbolic/Number Analogy,
- Trends,
- Figural Analogy,
- Space Orientation ,
- Semantic Classification,
- Venn Diagrams,
- Symbolic/Number Classification,
- Drawing inferences,
- Figural Classification,
- Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding, Semantic Series. etc
3. General Awareness: The test will include questions related to India and its neighbouring countries, and Questions are designed to test the candidate‟s general awareness of the environment and its application to the society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events etc.
4. Quantitative aptitude: The test will include questions relating to :

- Ratio and Proportion,
- Square roots,
- Averages,
- Interest (Simple and Compound),

For Graduation and Above Level
2. General Intelligence: It includes both verbal and non-verbal type questions. The test includes questions on :

- arithmetical reasoning and figural classification

- Small & Capital letters/ numbers coding,

- Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence,
- statement conclusion and syllogistic reasoning etc.
